According to 'The Michigan Alumnus', Vol.12, 1906:
Luther D. Dean died at Lansing, Mich., September 1. 1904, aged 75 and was buried at Dansville, Mich."

NOTE: Death certificate and obituary indicate Luther was buried in Dansville. Luther was likely buried at the Fairview Cemetery in Dansville. His father, Mother, and daughter Celia J Dean are buried in Lot 1, Row 26, Sec. 1C and brother Cyrus Dean in Plot 37. The Fairview Cemetery office in Dansville has no record of Luther Darwin Dean. His daughter Celia was buried in her grandparent's (Horace & Polly Dean's) cemetery lot on the south side of Lot 1 Row 26 Sec 1C. The family monument there is in poor condition and nearly impossible to read. There is no individual stone for Celia and there may be other family burials in that family section with no stone present. Also, Grandson Roland Dean May was buried in Sec. 3E, Lot 477, Row 17. His death certificate also says 'buried at Dansville'.
--Deb Hayes-Wolfe adds that there are a lot of early burials that are not recorded by cemeteries in Mid Michigan. In Jackson, everything before 1930 is lost by fire. Only those with markers are recorded (they walked the cemeteries). Now they also tell folks that people aren't listed when an obit or family record proves they are indeed in that cemetery. Can't imagine he wouldn't have been buried with family.
